Botox Parties and Mobile Injection Services

Are “Botox parties” legal in Illinois?

Yes. Illinois does not regulate where neuromodulators may be injected, as long as the injections are provided by an MD/DO, APRN with full practice authority, or qualified and credentialed RNs or PAs under appropriate supervision.

Current safety requirements must still be met, including patient confidentiality and bloodborne pathogen safety and exposure control protocols.

Do I need a business license to host Botox parties?

Mobile neuromodulator services are considered the practice of medicine under Illinois law, and therefore the practice must be owned by a professional with an MD/DO license or by an APRN with a full practice authority license. Illinois does not require separate business licenses for medical spas, whether mobile or fixed.
